Thanks for clearing this out Bryan,Originally Posted by BM
So for another example. The drawing 4792 would give the following winners:
4792
7924
9247
2479
And the odds are 1 in (10!-6!)/4 = 1260.
Is this correct?

I agree would be nice to see some of our money in the old pips coming our side - I had a round 4000 dollars pending in picpay. I have never got a straight answer if our money is in the system still.
Happy pipster or unhappy???

Thanks for the explanation Bryan.
Ok guys, the maths.
Combinations.
Let me use as an example any 3 from 4.
Each number can only appear 3 times in total, and the order of each group is ascending.
123
124
134
234
The formula is 4C3 = 4x3x2/1x2x3 =4
Permatations
To permatate 3 from 4, the numbers will appear in a random order. We can use No1 as an example.
123
132
124
142
134
143
The formula is 4P3 = 4x3x2 = 24 which gives every possible way of combining 3 numbers irrespective of the order they appear in each group.
Going back to the lotto, to hit a winning combination, you would need to perm 4 from 10 to cover every possible combination of numbers drawn.
10P4 = 10x9x8x7 = 5040 Your odds of a win are 5040:1
You cannot use combinations because the winning line is in the order of the draw, and the first number drawn may be a 7, an 8 or even a 9 which will not fall into an ascending order for a combination bet, never mind what could happen with the other 3 numbers.
If the BOX had been 4 numbers in any order, then we could have used combinations, 10C4 = 10x9x8x7/1x2x3x4 = 210 which would have been a good bet with a $750 payout :)
As a gambler I cant see where to shave off a number or two to reduce the odds, but if you want to try a full cover 4 from 8 = 8x7x6x5 =$1680 stake.
Or 4 from 7 = 7x6x5x4 = $840. Just means taking a gamble and dropping 2 or 3 numbers you think have no chance of coming out of the hat.
Thanks guys

I am closing this thread and all that are related to the Hallotto disguise deceit. For returning members wanting to trace or track related posts concerning the current development some call it a stupid saga, a farce and even a silly & endless waste of time, well whatever anyone feels opinionated by their individual viewpoints or argument, the Trial on the Marsdens is NOT over and far from closure hence, a main sticky thread will cater to that attention
at this link>>>:
Any further new threads open just for the sake of an individual's ignorance to the progress surrounding the Marsdens or the Trial or anything else on PIPS or PicPay and all the parties involved will find their newly created thread deleted. Issues related to the past and further back in the past, will be posted in the above thread, click that and stay there with your submitted posts please. This is a start of some pruning and spring cleaning on the PIPS related Forum.
