For people who tried really expensive food (like caviar, truffles, etc.) what did you eat? Was it worth the price?

Caviar. A lot of people like it because it's expensive, rather than because they know and appreciate the taste of good, fresh caviar. To me, the taste of caviar is a bit like the taste of the sea - briny, but not over salty. Actually, most good food stores sell black caviar.
