In-house or outsourced team?

Hi guys!
Have you ever tried outsource your software development?
I was afraid of loosing control of all processes inside outsourced team... But here I read that dedicated software development team model allows you to have full control over product development.
What you think about this?
Can I have control if all team works in other country? Maybe you had similar experience?
