    Default The rollercoaster stopped.

Hey where is everybody? The news this morning seems to have everybody in a somber mood. It's like we've been on this wild rollercoaster ride and it suddenly stopped. Have you ever been on a rollercoaster that stopped. I have. You're on this wild ride and then, "BAM", you're stopped. You think when is this gonna start again.

Hopefully, it won't be long for the Iraqi express to get going again. What's everybody's take on what's going on. Is the taking off for a week a Iraqi defiance thing where they show the US that they're "independent"? Are they so stupid as to push the US to their limits or is this just a new found arrogance? Whatever it is, I don't like it. Could it be a smoke screen? I'm having a hard time following the news these days it seems to be a "seesaw" back and forth thing.

    Anybody. What are your thoughts.

you asked, but from me, you will be getting a woman's response, one that is in her mid 30's and hormonal....so.....

the news about the break is depressing. I don't believe it is a smokescreen. i have never been a part of something where i can be so up one second and sooooo down the very next. it doesn't help when we are trying to keep things light and fun (b/c this whole experience is so draining,) and others collaborate to try to shut you up b/c for whatever reason or another, they prefer to stay somber and cause problems on this forum. these people know who they are and they know EXACTLY what i'm talking about and what they are doing. ADD that on top of conflicting articles and news of delays, sure....it seems this is another low point in this ride.
i guess we just have to keep waiting to see what is going to happen, and just keep praying for our president, who seems to really need prayers and protection and wisdom in all of his decisions, and pray for our soldiers who are in harms way and who are doing an incredible job defending our freedoms, and pray that there will be no more delays or postponements, that the iraqi's can start showing they are capable of managing their own country....etc.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said: “ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Thankyou Tammy. I seem to always forget prayer, although last year when my wife was diagnosed & treated for Non-hodgkins lymphoma, it was in fact prayer & prayer in a prayer group that helped me get through the whole thing. I believe also that it was prayer that played the biggest part in erradicating the cancer from my wife's body.

Perhaps this rollercoaster pause is a time to step back and have a time of prayer for Bush, the troups, the Iraqi people, & the GOI.

Thanks again. This is exactly what I was looking for in this thread. A place to ventilate and express your feelings and thoughts about the present situation.

    Default u r quite welcome.

this has been draining to say the least....and honestly, the ONLY way i know how to handle the depression that creeps in so easily through all of this is to: 1. pray, and 2. keep things light.
i'd say you are correct that this would be a good time over the next week to spend extra time in prayer. not only for the iraqi's but for our own country that seems to be in need for prayers as well. I can't even stand to turn on the news any more. i feel like i set myself up for torture by tuning in to the news lately.
I end up feeling disgusted, sad, depressed, etc. at all of the news in our own country. Missing wives, missing children, missing moms, etc. there's a man missing from a cruise ship AGAIN...it goes on and on.....
I'm not gonna hold my tongue and defend why we enjoy getting carried away with chit chat and such so much here. I say to all of those people who get irritated by our lighthearted banter, stay in the news thread. I for one have managed to go to that thread and read and not get silly with our chit chat stuff.

anyway, thanks for starting this one, chief. perhaps you will allow a little flexibility in here?! I mean, how much can one stray off topic in this one? skies the limit, i'd say.

THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THIS ROLLER COASTER RIDE.....it can be draining...thats why i prefer to try and stay on an even keel.....never get too high....and never get too low....to a lot of you in this forum its seen as a NEGATIVE opinion when in fact all it is is a DIFFERENT opinion...or approach if you will.....not nearly as draining as the roller coaster syndrome that a lot of you seem to have.....thats why when i hear good news i take it with a grain of salt[sand]....as when i hear bad news...i try to weigh both and come to an opinion..rather its a wrong opinion...or a right opinion...its still my opinion of the situation.....some days i doubt if they will ever get it together in Iraq.....then some days i think they have a chance....all in all....i have been in this investment over 2 years....i am here for the duration....i just choose not to get on that roller coaster any more....too ruff of a ride....been on it.....been there....done that......not knocking anyone who wants that ride thou......its your ride....lets just cope the best way we can...and by all means.....PRAY.....IMHO...Pat

I think it is one of two things. As mentioned above, the defiance thing seems to me is very likely. The other is much like Norm. Norm was a little male Yorkie we had, (passed on now). But Norm was the most happy go lucky thing I have ever known, animal or human. Nothing bothered him, he was always happy. If something came up that might be causing a change in our lifestyle he just shrugged it off. Will built two different homes so we moved twice during his life. The move and new location didn't even slow him down. Oblivious is what I would to describe Norm. I appears the GoI is oblivious as well. Same o, same o.

    Talking I like this thread.

All of you are so right. This thread help me to understand that one cannot put their hope in man. And yes CoolD and CW, we have to pull away and take a this one week break. I do not know what to think except that it's been like a dog chasing his tail. The ups and downs can use up a lot of energy; I will use this break to practice humility. I will not judge Iraq but Lord knows I will pray for them. I have never in all my life experience such customs. I have tried to understand, but I am too tired to continue. I will just wait for the outcome. Oh yeah, there will be an RV and soon.

    Have a Blessed Week All.
    The time for RV is.....

has it occured to anyone that they have one parliamentarian that just was arrested for murder and the speaker himself is stepping down and the disruption in parliament MIGHT be causing the delay?

kinda hard to hold parliament without a speaker and with one cabinet member in the process of bein busted.

i stated a long time ago the iraqis will complete things IN THEIR OWN TIME. not because someone in the usa says so, not because threats are made weekly. because, as you can see, a threat has been made almost weekly and they continue AT THEIR OWN PACE. making sure they are creating a country that will be worth staying in. alot to be said for doin it the right way instead of the quick way.
    JULY STILL AINT NO LIE!!!

    franny, were almost there!!
