Thumbs up News, Opinions, Comments, Rumors.

Since Neno is so tired of us posting opinions in the news thread and him having to work hard and spend hours cleaning it up. Heres a thread were you are free to speak your mind. Other members are tired of all the comments and opinions as we get side tracked that its a NEWS THREAD and that its the only one that people check to see how people are feeling in reguards to the investment so WHY NOT POST FEELINGS, NEWS and ALL OF THE ABOVE to the title of this thread in hear. It would help If SGS, ADSTER, RR, CHARMED, ORDINARY, and all others who I left out to get this rolling. As people respect the things you contribute. People will then check this thread to get the over all feel of how things are going.. Heres a thread where we can post news comment on it, voice opinions, talk about anything thats on your mind concerning the dinar and this investment.

I feel as if we are close... we have come along way in this investment the clock is ticking....the iraqi train of thought is not the brightest and i feel as if there is some corruption going on there but something has got to give sooner or later. It may be easy to get down on the investment and consumed of all the time spent scanning the forums and the news being posted out there..but our day will soon come...but the question is how much and when

    Default Some thoughts

I used to think we were close but now I am not so sure. For some reason logic just seems to escape the Iraqi mindset. The people are really hurting. The quickest, easiest way to help would be to r/v. Adster says (and I agree) that the Iraqi politicians could give a fack about the Iraqi citizens, and only care about themselves. This may be true but with all of their corruption (they are ranked #3 in the world) and inside information, the politicians could make out like the bandits they are by taking some of the super inflated paychecks paid in usd, converting it into dinars, then after the rv become ultra wealthy. So whether it is for the people's sake or their own selfishness and greed, they should rv right away before there is no country left to live in.

If they for 1 nano second think that if their govt. was to fall, they would be better off with the new wacko crazed insurgents in control, they make a fatal mistake, one that could cost them everything.... including their lives and the lives of their families. They are in a high stakes game for control of the world's most sought after natural resources. To them it may be a game but one if they lose, they lose it all including their lives. If Maliki for an instant thinks that he can just drag his feet and play politics as usual then he is in for the surprise of his life. The big boys, international govts and corporations will put the "hit" on him if he continues to slow them down for much longer IMO.
If not the international big boys and govts putting the "hit" on him, then his own people by way of the milias could do him in. The best way to save himself, his country, his family and friends from disaster, is to rv and rv soon before it's too late IMO

Are we there yet? I'm getting really tired of waiting and I am getting wet from all of the dribbling. Come on you know it is the right thing to do for your country. R/V the thing in 1 large dramtic move to over 1 usd at least (1 sdr will be fine for a start) will ya?

Quite possible there will be no reval until the reshuffle in the Cabinet.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Why do you say that? To exchange one corrupt Iraqi politician for another, how does that change things? The same ole, same ole BS just keeps going round and round, doesn't it?

I posted a few weeks ago that a revalue is likely in the first quarter of 2007. I still stand by that as Iraq does move at its own pace. I recently met an Iraqi at Dubai airport and asked him about the dinar. He looked nonplussed for a few seconds and then termed it "worthless". I asked him how the people felt about a worthless currency. He calmly said that all that they were concerned about was the violence. He said that people had very little hope and were scared for their lives. The value of the currency wasn't as big an issue as the violence. FYI, he was on his way to Basra.

    Exactly,

Sadly, as we have all seen, everytime another piece of the puzzle falls into place, another one piece seems to appear. This internal issue with parliament not showing up for important votes has been evolving for months with no action, just talk. It is almost like they have to leak all potential decisions first to determine their actions after reading the feed back, good, bad and ugly of it.

Simply amazing how many times we have heard the right news as it was slipped to press or whatever, and then nothing happens. We heard most were not attending parliament meetings months ago, but only now is it again being talked about. We heard six ministers were being replaced months ago, all but named a few, including MoF, yet nothing happened. Like many have pointed out, no logics here at all given what we have heard.

Personally, from what I have been hearing, there is finally going to be a huge shake up in parliament and cabinet as problems have gotten worse than the six we heard about months ago. Now there is talk of a third being replaced, so until this is resolved, I just don't see a revalue until this is done. Just too much corruption and internally controlled militia to see security issues resolved. We see all the external pieces in place, but in the mean time we have seen the internal pieces get lost. Sure is an interesting journey we have all been on, can't wait for it to end in Caymans. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

I know the CBI does not have complete autonomous control, but does the CBI care who is minister of such and such or who's in cabinet? The are a separate entity just like the Fed. Correct?

On the other hand, maybe it will factor into the timing of the RV since corruption has been in the headlines and no one likes corrupt officials getting rich LOL.

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face... then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."

    From Stephanie at IIF:

"I would have posted earlier but experienced an Internet outage since I returned home this evening.

Sales of Iraqi Dinar did not start at our branch today, nor did anyone approach me or other tellers nearby requesting to purchase Iraqi Dinar (I had my ears open for those words). However while making a sale of a different currency I did check to see if IQD was listed and it was not. Another teller with whom I work and who is invested in dinar asked our supervisor why it was not listed as we were told in a policy meeting two weeks prior that it would and her exact words were "I don't know and it doesn't matter, sometimes things change, maybe tomorrow." I'm not counting on it, I've seen too many false start runners in this investment, (if I can still call it an investment). IMO It will happen when it happens, if it happens.
Anyhow there is the update to the question if BOA is selling or not. Since they are not and if this thread is kept open it should probably be moved back to rumors/speculation whence it came.
The dinar and our anticipation of a revaluation is an addiction that is certainly taking up too much of my time so I'm going to just leave the little bit of dinar I have held onto in my safe and when my child starts school in a few years I'll check it then. If it happens sooner I am sure we will all hear the news, including those who don't know about dinar. If something happens at my branch that is worth bringing to the forum I will be certain to bring it, after it's fact. Please do not PM me asking if I have updates as I do not have the time to answer individual PM's. God bless the mods, readers/posters who stay glued to this forum day after day for I know how hard it is to stay away but believe doing so is the wisest choice.

Good luck to all of you, now let me run for cover."

Still flip-flopping like a big ole channel cat!
