    Default Info for newbie

Hi all, I'm brand new here sorry I'm late to the party! :)
I'm going to buy some Dinars and would like some information:

    1. What are the Top 5 most reputable places to buy Dinars?
    2. If I buy 5-10M Dinars, what would be the best denominations to buy it in?
    3. How do I know the bills are not counterfeit?
    4. Some people have mentioned what if they change their currency? Since they just changed it over in 2003, how likely is that to happen?
    5. I've read the threads about taxes/capital gains and was wondering is it possible to exchange $10k (or $9,900) worth at a time at an airport or a currency exchange place?

Thanks for any info, this is a great board with a lot of positive folks and lots of great information..glad I found it! :)

    Thanks!

Everyone will have there favorite places. I'm partial to SafeDinar.com. I've never had any problems or worries from them. They can also ship COD - Overnight.
    2. If I buy 5-10M Dinars, what would be the best denominations to buy it in?
There is some debate on this one. Personally I've been getting the 25k because it is a little cheaper with freight costs and I don't have to store as much bulk.
    3. How do I know the bills are not counterfeit?
There are many dealer site and the Central Bank of Iraq site that explain the security features so you can compare you're bills.
    4. Some people have mentioned what if they change their currency? Since they just changed it over in 2003, how likely is that to happen?
Not very. If I remenber correctly to be part of the IMF and WTO they can only print currency once every 5-years.
    5. I've read the threads about taxes/capital gains and was wondering is it possible to exchange $10k (or $9,900) worth at a time at an airport or a currency exchange place?
Use the search function and you can find a ton of info on this.

Hi and welcome. Don't worry about being late in the game - better late than never as the saying goes . However, with the latest news, I wouldn't wait very long. My responces are in red above. Best of luck.

I'm going to buy some Dinars and would like some information:

If you have a Chase Bank go there. If not I preferred safedinar.com C.O.D.

    2. If I buy 5-10M Dinars, what would be the best denominations to buy it in?

IMHO it doesn't matter. But if you can get the smaller ones they are alittle higher.

    3. How do I know the bills are not counterfeit?

At Chase they should allow you to use their ultraviolet light. But with the Bank and safedinar, I am not worried.
    4. Some people have mentioned what if they change their currency? Since they just changed it over in 2003, how likely is that to happen?

This risk of this, would not do Iraq or anything that has been accomplished anything good. So I believe by that and the things that have happened, that is most unlikly to even cross their minds.

    5. I've read the threads about taxes/capital gains and was wondering is it possible to exchange $10k (or $9,900) worth at a time at an airport or a currency exchange place?

This was my very plan in the beginning. But nolonger. As it is not worth it. But if this is the route you choose it can be done. Good Luck.

Thanks a lot for the quick answers. As far as changing the currency, since you thought about doing the same thing (exchanging 10k at a time), are there any other options that you would recommend?

    Thanks! :)

I would say that it all depends on the amount of Investment you have done. If I had under say 1 mill then I would go a major trip and do the under 10k thing. But if you are into this pretty deep then I would cash in enough for freedom with taxes set aside for payment, then take the time to figure out what you will do from there.

You could do alittle of both. But remember it is against the Law to do Tax "Avation". It is not against the Law to "Avoid" the leagal way. Again depending on your Investment, you might want a good Tax attorney as well as a accountant. And make them EARN their money.

Just thought I wuold post the latest news here:

I called a couple of Chase branches this morning but they told me they do not sell foreign currency. Then I called the branch on 44th & Camelback in Scottsdale and the guy was very helpful. At first he wasn't sure if they were allowed to sell ID, but he called me back within 5 minutes and told me that I could come in, and just go to a teller and take care of it.
Went there today at lunch and picked up 5.2Mill! They should have them ready for me tomorrow!
Thanks for everyone's help on this. I'm not sure at this point when the reval will happen, but I might try to pick up some more Dinars in the next few months if we don't hear any news.
    Keeping my fingers crossed!

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
