Manufacturing Activity

Stocks started off the morning lower on news that U.S. manufacturing activity has slowed down. (Read more at Millennium-Traders.Com)

MBA Mortgage Applications:
U.S. MBA Market Index fell 8.9% at 801.5; Last Week 880.0; U.S. MBA Purchase Index fell 0.4% at 183.7; Last Week 184.5; U.S. MBA Refinance Index fell 10.8% at 4,396.1; Last Week 4,926.5.

New York Empire State Manufacturing Index:
New York Fed September Prices Received 1.49 versus -2.86 in August; New York Fed September Employment 14.93 versus 14.29 in August; New York Fed September New Orders 4.33 versus -2.71 in August; New York Fed's September Manufacturing Index 4.14 versus 7.10 in August.

Import Price Index (MoM):
U.S. August Petroleum Import Prices rose 2.1%; U.S. August Non-Petroleum Import Prices rose 0.2%; U.S. August Import Prices rose 0.6%; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.3%.

Capacity Utilization Rate:
U.S. August Capacity Utilization rose 0.1-Pt at 74.7%; Compare to Consensus of 75.0%; U.S. July Capacity Utilization Revised to 74.6% from 74.8%.

Industrial Production (MoM):
U.S. August Industrial Production rose 0.2%; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.3%; U.S. July Industrial Production Revised to +0.6% from +1.0%.

Crude Oil Inventories as Reported by DOE:
U.S. Refineries Ran at 87.6% capacity; was Seen at 87.50% capacity; U.S. Refineries Ran at 87.6% capacity versus 88.2% capacity a Week Ago; U.S. Distillate Stockpiles fell 0.34 Million Barrels in Week; was Seen increasing by 0.2 Million Barrels; U.S. Gasoline Stockpiles fell 0.694 Million Barrels in Week; was Seen decreasing by 1.1 Million Barrels; U.S. Gasoline Stockpiles fell 0.694 Million Barrels at 224.468 Million Barrels; U.S. Crude Oil Stockpiles fell 2.489 Million Barrels in Week; was Seen decreasing by 2.5 Million Barrels; U.S. Crude Oil Stockpiles fell 2.489 Million Barrels at 357.365 Million Barrels.
