Glad to note you are initiating that endeavour yourself. I am over there too in June, part of my itinerary lined up with with other fact-finding trail both in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and eating out by Penang...stone's throw from Langkawi...

That may be a good booz(ter) Skylark and may help chill the fears and tilting the glasses with Bryan & Sharon once again...

Heck, I'll even help you to eat! As for Langkawi, it's about 4hrs from Penang via Ferry about RM40 one way. (Diesel increase so not sure abt exact prices but the last time it was RM35 one way.)
