Tax Write Off Possible?

Anyone please,
Is there anyway to write off investments done online where there is doubt on receiving any of the investment/loan back??? ie. pips, gins, etc..

I suppose if you could provide the information (if requested in an audit) in the form/format that the IRS would accept then it "could" be...Best to talk with a tax professional first though.
