    Daily Market Commentary for April 2, 2009

    The conclusions on Thursday by the leaders of the Group of 20 (G-20) industrial and developing nations are a "defining moment" for the world's economy, as stated by the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. (read more at Millennium-Traders.Com)

    Economic data released today:

    Jobless Claims:
    U.S. Continuing Claims for week of March 21 increased by 161K to 5,728,000; U.S. Jobless Claims for week of March 28 increased by 12K to 669K compared to survey of an increase by 3K; U.S. Jobless Claims for March 21 Revised to 657K from 652K;
    U.S. Jobless Claims Highest since October 1982; U.S. Continuing Claims Highest on Record.

    Factory Orders:
    U.S. Factory Orders rose 1.8% in February as compared to consensus of an increase by 1.9%; U.S. February Factory Orders, Excluding Transportation rose 1.6%; U.S. February Factory Orders, Excluding Defense rose 0.9%; U.S. February Durable Goods Revised to an increase by 3.5% from an increase by 3.4%; U.S. January Factory Orders Revised to a drop by 3.5% from a drop by 1.9%.

    The monetary markets hopefully going to act in response optimistically to the G20’s list of programs last week; and it comes as tiny bolt from the blue. Captioning into the summit, US equities and merchandise were placed within a stable go forward. As such, the market was simply reacting to the dubious event during its usual bias. Though, factual venture circumstances have not enhanced with gathering of the worlds most powerful countries. The assurance made are merely promises for act until nations in fact institute the steps drawn up in the declaration; and bearing in mind the state of individual economies, few will be eager to reroute very important assist away from the familial fire in order to help extinguish a much bigger monetary fire. In the meantime, the resources pond and potential for returns from US possessions continue to shrivel. Consumer spending threatens to constrain the world’s largest financial system into a true gloominess, at the same time as the administration runs out of options.
