Submission wrestling/grappling brings various techniques from a variety of places together. It is part folk wrestling, part judo, part Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and part freestyle wrestling, among other things. The larger sport is a mixed martial arts sport. Those that participate in submission wrestling/grappling usually wear shirts and clothing that sticks to the body like tank tops. These clothes need to be tight so they do not get ripped off or torn during the match.
Submission wrestling/grappling is often taught in MMA schools. Grappling is a method that is taught in many different arts while submission wrestling is used to defeat an opponent in certain sports. There are many different martial arts that utilize the skills taught in submission wrestling.
