Hi!
As some of you may know, my daughter is studying a year in USA; in California. She is due to return home now in June. Or rather, she WAS coming home in June. Now the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC is offering jobs as trainees, and my daughter is going to apply for that. She is studying Economics (and drama) so a job as a trainee there would be a really good qualification for her future.
The problem is that the job doesn't pay anything, and since she won't be studying then she can't get study loans. She doesn't have much money left; definitively not enough to pay a high rent.
She asked me if I could help her with money, but you all know I am broke...so can't promise her economic help. However...I told her to still apply for the job, and that somehow we would figure out a solution.

So here is what I ask you all: Do any of you know someone that lives in Washington DC that could consider renting her a room?
Janya, my daughter, is a very nice and responsible person. She's 23 years old and doesn't drink nor smoke. She was nominated in her school in Chico, CA, as the "Student of the Year in Project Management" - and she won the nomination. I am absolutely sure that the school would write a recommendation letter if needed.

IF she receives the job as a trainee, I believe she would be working very long days...so don't think she would be much of a disturbance to whomever would rent her a room. She wouldn't be home much!

Of course, nothing is definitive - she hasn't received the job yet - but IF she got it it would be such a shame to have to say "no" because she couldn't afford to live there...

So PLEASE - if somebody can help, please answer! Or if someone has another suggestion for cheap living, I'd be happy to hear about it.
