Default Moderation and family friendly posting

I just had a thread closed by a moderator who said-
"I will close all threads that become off topic from the original topic",
I was getting flamed by people that hide behind a fake screen name, I put some money into rolclub advertising last week. This encourages flaming in the forum.

If this is permitted by a mod, I will not recemmend my readership to this forum, and I have 6500 on my list, 80% of which are Iraq investers. Not very big but, I am a serious rolclub, I like to post, I was invited here by one of my readers.

What should happen, is the flamers should start getting thier accounts suspended for a day, and mods should delete thier posts when they become off topic flaming.

One mod, did the "right thing" early in the thread I am talking about. He deleted the flame, the person who flamed reposted in a more diplomatic manner. And the mod said something like, 'please don't flame or you will have your post deleted'. Then, the very first post right after the mod, was another heavy flame. This guy, should immediately have his account suspended for a day, 2nd time - a week, 3rd time, account closed no matter how many thanks and posts he has, just like they do in the WarriorForum; A family friendly environment.

This type of behavior is an insult to the mods, there is anarchy in the threads, do you realize how many very well to do people, with lots of advertising dollars, just read posts, but don't sign in, let alone spend money on advertising in here, for fear of being flamed for thier humble opinions?

Rolclub, is currently, not, a family friendly environment. Mods need more power in here. Or, you need to add more mods, and or enforce rules such as account suspensions and closures.

Not sure what you mean by "family friendly". This is an investment forum, not a child's forum. But, that said, there are Terms of Service, and they do state that there is no swearing, no insults, etc, although we often let mild swearing slide as we are all adults here.

Sometimes, though, closing a thread is the simplest way to ease a situation. Flames can become out of control, and if you are getting many flames, there was obviously something inflamatory in the original post. I must say that I did not see the original thread, though.

At the end of the day, all our welcome at Rolclub, provided they abide by the ToS.

Thank you for raising your points in this way and also through the PM you sent.

Bolded as you see above, is exactly what we want to maintain but not be portrayed as Policing which some had in the past, tried to stigmatise ROLClub as such.

We would rather see the fairness and granted with that, is no reason to be heavy handed or aggressive with taunts and unnecesary to callous comments & confrontation with the actions RC MODs are expected to execute...all these are to uphold and protect our image and credibility on theNet... and on a larger picture overseeing all topics!

All are welcome to participate and by that same hospitality, we expect all to abide with respect for others and their potential sensibility to issues addressed.

    Default update

I understand mild swearing is permitted. 1 by 1, members of the forum are getting to know me and like me. Which is great.

When I saw a mod clean up a thread, he deleted part of a post and said "No flaming", then someone posted IMMEDIATELY with a very strong flame. This was a total insult to the mod. This sends out a message to everyone in the forum that "anything goes". That person, should have had a strong warning from the mod which I doubt happened, or a 1 day suspension. That was the most serious thing I noticed.
