Hi....as a FYI....
I emailed Mohd asking him if the proforma I sent in a year ago that he had already acknowledged receiving was still good and I was told YES.
Thank you my friend. My original forms were complete in every detail and have been acknowledged so I am happy to rely on the SPF CAD to do their stuff, however long that may end up taking.
In my original post I was merely asking whether this was another process which had to be completed in pursuit of the refund or whether this was essentially the same one that many of us have already done as it has indeed turned out to be.
Thank you once again for clarifying, and for your efforts on behalf of various members.
With kind regards
Simon (a.k.a. 'Boney')
U R very welcome and it makes me feel good too and I hope, with your confidence aired since today and by your reflection on such news, it will encourage others too and esp. those that have still to submit theirs, the Singapore Police simply wants to let it get all back to their rightful owners...so if UR reading this, be positive and GO FOR IT...Pronto...!!! - YB.

cmack
That's good & GREAT news to hear Cmack and I hope, many more getting to read your post can also try doing just what you did... just to be sure!! You apparently, still having that degree of uncertainty on whether you filled out rightly or not, took the extra mile to re-confirm and it sure does feel good, I know, for we felt that way too on that day, hearing straight from the horse's mouth!!!
It is not that difficult nor troublesome to make an extra effort for it is YOUR own money at the end of the day that you should try to secure.... and don't let silly posters with screwed-up egos pointing out their wise crap ... to eat at you!
As you can see, the Police Officer is also now in a better responsive position to interact... so please help yourself and he'll help you with the answers too, I know he'll be efficient at it, I met him and he assured his resolute determination.
I am also contemplating the following, we can only try can we not?
I will suggest, and this is for myself of course, to have it collected ..CASH if possible and in local Singapore currency, seeing the value of the USD$ at a lower end and savings on the conversion if one can help curb it.
Should any of you have several thousands involved, I'd suggest that for yourself to fly over & collect personally too, and here's another tip, they have this "PolWel" co-op shop on the 1st Floor next to their Restaurant in the Police HQ; I went in there like anyone is allowed and found the prices on several high end techie items a WORLD bargain and Purchase!!! It is already pretty cheap outside at the Retail shops...but whoaahhhh, it gets knocked off even more inside...thats because, it is actually meant to offer Police Staff who don't earn like the civilians do...
I have eyed the ********* washing machine that takes 8,5 kg load and it is as good as the MayTag or Miele machines I know and once have myself and its sooo darn cheap...through this source!!!
I will have a unit ordered and delivery is FREE too to my recently purchased apartment in Singapore. ***** and ***** heavy type cameras are going for great prices too!!! You get your GST of 7% refunded at the airport as well. Go there if you can and shop, eat and drop with happiness....visit Singapore nonetheless and have fun as well
I wish all of you GINSengs.... the best and happiness to your soon to be handed-over money that belongs to you!!! Good luck... and don't let anything else hold you back...
Sent you a PM Yogi. Thanks for your help and all the info that you've supplied us.
Rick
Thanks Rix and U R welcome and all the best to your retrieval too!
As for those that still had not done so, please do and I was also glad to hear from Supt. Shari of a good and recent surge in response both by telephone and emails and we were both elated by this ...so I do wish in urging, don't hold back, if you are unsure submit to be pretty certain or call the given number and check it out...it is after all, your money and do something for yourself in this case...!!
Those that have PM'd me theirs, I will wait awhile more and will instead attaching your "disclosures" to Supt. Shari as I had mentioned earlier.
I don't want to wait till Nov and you guys had to wait till then too... its the least I can do to help out.
Btw, just had a splendid idea too for all who can make it...I plan to include welcoming members, GINs and PIPS ex-acct holders to a House Warming party at our resort house in Hua Hin when it is ready in 2008. Just stay around and if need be, we can fix accomodation too, its part of our business as well with local Hotels and holiday homes etc...whatever your choice is...
The one in Bangkok, is a luxury Condo, is being leased out right after completion of the entire Complex, so no opportunity on that but for Golf players, bring along your family to our Resort location in the Black Mountain Golf Course and if you have extra cash to truly invest like I did and really enjoy being a happy holidaymaker and living off the fruits with Realty Investments, visit this link of ours, we can show you about with a customized package Tour so you can decide with our Legal Investors and Consultants accompanying you to see what a right choice can offer your personal portfolio we have in store. Pretty much 90% of the money was still in place with the bulk being in the Hong Kong bank that was to be used for trades and some still in e-currencies which were frozen by a US court subpoena
As you can see the lawyer took all the Gins money from the e-currency accounts and holds this in a trust fund for US members so it may be worth contacting his firm, the court action was brought by John Cunag AKA Lighthouse from the Gins forum
There should be circa 70% of the money in the Standard Chartered account earning interest since May 2005 less of course what the Singapore state deducts for " expenses"
any more news from anyone. This is going on and on.
cheers

I was unable to speak to the OIC as I believe he is out on a training course which will soon end and by then, I hope to get him on the phone prior to my "popping over" into Singapore over 4 weeks time en route to Thailand to have a swing at golf on "our Black Mountain" Golf Course.
I have several details ex Ginsters would like me to submit personally and of course, I want to know more too about arrangements regarding the disbursements wired directly into a local Bank there and thus curbing expensive Bank charges further imposed by Banks outside Singapore.
FYI,
I keep asking Mr. Shari for updates.....and it's repetitious but here's what he said a week ago:
Dear Sir We assure you that action is being taken to return the monies seized in thecourse of investigation.Presently, we are in consultation with the Attorney-General's Chambers onour proposed course of action with regards to the refund of the monies toeligible investors. We thank you for your patience and seek your understanding in the matter. Regards,Mohd ShahriAssistant Superintendent of PoliceCommercial Affairs DepartmentSingapore Police Force
I did not receive such a post or mail, since I did not pursued the same question by repeating or asking yet again when I am now fully aware, they are handling & processing the course to be undertaken, beyond his status or authority to approve disbursements. His Department oversees the correct management and handling of the disbursements, but it comes from higher up that gives the green light and that is now in waiting...
It is of course, no harm in asking him with your anguish concerns.... at least he and the Dept maintains a formal & correct approach responding with answers that are not impolite or arrogant and does not also suggest, they are getting edgy and irate by Investors querying directly or indirectly. On the contrary...
He knows I am coming or rather, leaving soon to see him too... but he recently emailed (this Monday week) me asking me to furnish him the new details my wife wants him to have to instead deposit or transfer into a local Bank account in Singapore rather than sending it back across the oceans and the far away receiving Banks gets a free cut of the slice... Yes, she decided to open a local account, while we were there in July, to facilitate receiving such payouts for convenience and yes, it shall be in Sing Dollars then of course after conversion from the US dollars. And with the crunchy state of the US Dollar currently at an all time low... it is not an option either to accept another slight loss in worth or value is it?
I look forward to see that flexibility taking place and after all, once the monies are approved, and ready for disbursement, it will be done and those deserving it, WILL GET IT back less some costs incurred and if it is known where it should be transferred to, it shall be done as well albeit high, medium or low Bank charges involved at the respective destinations.
