Economic Update

Economic data released today:

U.S. ICSC/Goldman Sachs Chain Store Sales rose 2.7% on Year and U.S. ICSC/Goldman Sachs Chain Store Sales fell 1.4% in February 12 Week.

New York Empire State Manufacturing Index:
New York Fed February Employment 3.61 versus 8.42 in January; New York Fed February Prices Received 16.87 versus 15.79 in January; New York Fed February New Orders 11.80 versus 12.39 in January; New York Fed’s February Manufacturing Index 15.43 versus 11.92 in January.

Retail Sales (MoM):
December Retail & Food Sales Revised To +0.5% from +0.6%; U.S. January Retail & Food Sales Excluding-Autos rose 0.3%; U.S. January Retail & Food Sales rose 0.3%; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.6%.

Import Price Index (MoM):
U.S. January Petroleum Import Prices rose 3.4%; U.S. January Non-Petroleum Import Prices rose 1.1%; U.S. January Import Prices rose 1.5%; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.8%.

Business Inventories (MoM):
U.S. December Business Inventories rose 0.8%; was Expected to rise 0.7%.

NAHB Housing Market Index:
U.S. NAHB February Housing Index 16 versus 16 in January.
