    Cool Brand new and Written Today

    ONCE A MAN- TWICE A CHILD

    Writings, ever dark and sometimes grim,
    The words that flow I give credit to Him,
    These are gracious lines that I must pen,
    With thoughts from God and not from men.

    My enter thoughts, lost deep within me,
    Reflections on paper for my eyes to see…
    Some makes me sigh, others I don’t know.
    Like shadows cast in time row after row.

    My countless thoughts bewilder me…
    Like the waves that drifts upon the sea.
    How is it that the mind’s eye can see-
    These feeling that are hidden in me?

    Life is too precious to forfeit one day,
    For I may never see tomorrow’s play;
    But this I know: each day there is less,
    So I’ll do my best, and God will do the rest.

    My thoughts, my unbelievable thoughts,
    About life and it’s should and it’s ought’s;
    Like a child, innocent as the day I was born,
    In time, I know, I’ll be as husk on the corn.

    God please teach me to live without strife!-
    You said “and take heed to yourselves least at
    Any time your hearts be overcharged with…
    Cares of this life.”

    The years shall past and I know not how…
    But I do know the time I have is now;
    Words you wrote “once a man-twice a child”
    And upon my face I can but only smile.

    Someday, my heart will not be one of youth,
    With uncertainty, or a longing for truth;
    Your grace was given and given so divine,
    And, if I didn’t understand it all, that’s fine.
