Q: How involved in the contest you were – was it taking all of your time?
A: Actually I am always involved with Forex news and the price changes for different currency pairs. I am looking for opportunity for a perfect entry. And of course it did not take all my time.

Q: What is the key factor to your success? Why are you better than everyone else?
A: Key factor of my success is waiting for the exact entry. When I saw that ranking just 4 days prior to ending I found myself in the top and believed that I can win this contest. Then I decided I won’t lose this contest! That’s why I closed several orders in loss. I have a plan to take a risk in last day of the contest to become a winner.

Q: What was your strategy? Have you developed a perfect plan or tried various techniques?
A: Actually I trade according to market trend. That’s why my trade logs contain little long-term trading and scalping. To win this contest I try to gain more pips and more gain so that I can become top positioned.

Q: What was your most spectacular gain? Have you encountered considerable loss?
A: I think last day I made my best gain. Yes, I encountered several losses. Because I think Forex trader should make considerable loss. Otherwise they don’t learn forex trading and one day they will lose entire account if they don’t want to make any loss.

Q: Do you plan to win Tesla?
A: Yes, of course. My main target is to win Tesla Model S. I will devote myself to win this contest by taking correct trade decisions at the right time.

Q: What advice can you give to your fellow participants of OctaFX Supercharged real contest?
A: One advice to all traders: just obey the market and go with the market trend. Because market is always right.

EUR/USD flatlined around 1.1030, IFO on sight

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The single currency has started the week on the right footing vs. the greenback, with EUR/USD sidelined around the 1.1030 area so far.

EUR/USD focus on IFO

The pair has managed to regain some strength an advance towards the current 1.1030/40 region during the Asian trading hours after briefly testing sub-1.1000 levels last Friday.

Spot has broken below the key support at the 8-month uptrend on Friday, following the increased selling pressure after the ECB meeting. In the meantime, EUR is expected to remain under pressure as today’s German IFO is expected a tad lower than the previous readings.

EUR/USD relevant levels

As of writing the pair is up 0.12% at 1.1031 and a breakdown of 1.1000 (psychological level) would target 1.0915 (low Jul.7) and finally 1.0847 (low Aug.5). On the flip side, the next hurdle lines up at 1.1074 (8-month uptrend) followed by 1.1117 (200-day sma) and then 1.1153 (61.8% Fibo of 1.0808-1.1713).

EUR/GBP keeps falling, around 0.7120

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The increasing offered tone around the single currency has now dragged EUR/GBP to test fresh lows in the 0.7120/15 band.

EUR/GBP lower on EUR weakness

The European cross is thus trading at shouting distance from recent multi-month lows around the 0.7100 neighborhood, all against the backdrop of renewed selling interest surrounding EUR following the last ECB meeting and subsequent comments by ECB officials regarding the likeliness of further easing by the central bank.

Data wise, UK’s Construction PMI has come in at 58.8 for the month of October, matching estimates and a tad lower than September’s 59.9. Next of relevance will be the speech by President M.Draghi later in the European evening.

EUR/GBP relevant levels

As of writing the cross is losing 0.42% at 0.7117 and a breach of 0.7105 (low Nov.2) would aim for 0.7067 (23.6% Fibo of 0.6935-0.7496) and finally 0.6934 (2015 low Jul.17). On the flip side, the next resistance lines up at 0.7215 (50% Fibo of 0.6935-0.7496) followed by 0.7238 (200-day sma) and then 0.7311 (55-day sma).

EUR/USD ready to resume the downside?

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - After hitting multi-month peaks just above 1.1700 the figure following Chinese events, EUR/USD has been retreating since then and is currently about to close its second consecutive week in red figures.

Fed’s lift-off in September?

Positive readings from the US labour market during August have teamed with previous auspicious results in the US economy, particularly the better-than-expected GDP revision for the second quarter.

All adds to increasing market expectations of the Fed resuming its normalization of the monetary policy this month after almost a decade, giving at the same time fresh oxygen to the greenback and opening the door to a resumption of the broader bearish prospect for the pair, that is, the divergence in monetary policy by the ECB and the Fed.

Hence, the possibility of the Fed hiking rates this month plus the return of the activity in the Chinese markets on Monday emerge as the main drivers for the global sentiment in the upcoming sessions.
