Default Google banning e-gold

Dear AdWords Advertiser,

We are writing to inform you of a change to Google's advertising
policies that may affect your AdWords account.

In the coming weeks, we will no longer accept AdWords ads that
promote e-gold. Ads and websites are also not accepted for related
content which includes, but is not limited to, e-gold exchange,
e-gold investment, and e-gold accounts.

When we make this change, Google will suspend all ads identified
as being in violation of this policy. If your account is affected
by this policy change, please remove any e-gold content from your
ad text and website. Current e-gold advertisers are encouraged to
instead advertise other products or services that comply with our
policies.

As a business, Google must make decisions regarding the
advertising that we accept. We apologize for any inconvenience
this policy change may cause you.

Sincerely,
The Google AdWords Team

Google Banning all Adwords Campaigns related to E-gold.com

Here is a very interesting development. We have found that Google Adwords has decided to ban any adword campaigns that have anything to do with E-gold. With the indictment of E-gold Ltd. Google must be trying it’s best to cooperate with the DOJ. This goes to show that E-gold’s days as a thriving internet business has come and gone. Here is an email some advertisers are receiving from Google Inc.:

Dear AdWords Advertiser,

We assume that if you are advertising any website that promotes E-gold itself, E-gold exchanges, or E-gold investment programs, you will have your ads for those sites terminated. Not only will they terminate ads that have E-gold in the ad itself, but also any ad directing to websites which promote E-gold. There has been some confusion, and we must note that Google is NOT banning websites related to E-gold in their search results, only their ads.

E-gold situation going downhill fast(post taken fromweb in august 2007) Posted for
information,on whats going on with egold at a later time.

Well since the last post about 40 hours ago, things have seemingly gotten worse. There are literally thousands of new e-gold accounts blocked, and apparently many of these account holders don’t even have the option to send in their personal data to E-gold to have them unblock their accounts.
One poor individual at the Talkgold forum even reported having 3 of his entire accounts with over $1,000,000.00 simply erased. Here is a snippet from his post at the forum, in which he explains he used the money for online forex brokerage accounts he had, which had no connection to money laundering or scamming anyone:
Deleted accounts details:
965***(Sam_Retwert) Last known balance: ~ $32,310 - frozen (login blocked) 08.23.2007
2024*** Last known balance: ~ $75,870 - deleted 08.23.2007
2457*** Last known balance: ~ $892,170. - deleted 08.23.07
4522*** Last known balance: ~ $124,150 - deleted 08.23.07

We are planning to start legal actions against e-Gold ltd and G&SR Inc.
Common complaint from many e-Gold users can speed-up legal enforcements.
If you want to take your part in our actions, post here your account number, contact email and your complaints against e-Gold here, or e-mail it us to jack_pollack@yahoo.com

Ironically it seems as though E-gold is blocking the accounts of people who have nothing to do with money laundering or scamming, and leaving the accounts of many Quesitonable HYIPs, investment schemes, and money launderers untouched.
I personally don’t see a problem with them locking accounts until they receive proper verfication of personal details, but deleting and locking accounts without allowing their owners the chance to take the funds out or verify their identities is simply immoral, unfair, and unjust. Who knows how many millions of dollars are currently locked in the E-gold system, or how many accounts like that of Mr. Pollack above have been erased completely?
If your account is locked, there are ways to get the money out. You first need another account you have had for at least 3 months and then select within that account to “accept funds from blocked accounts”. Once you transfer the money to the older account, you will need to outexchange it through Me-Gold.com or another exchanger.
In my opinion the days of E-gold are numbered, as well as the trust most of us had in their system. All we can do is hope that they come to a resolution on all these issues that is fair to their clients, some of over 10 years.
As for people looking for ecurrencies which are relatively anonymous, as well as eccurencies which do not put the payment recipients at risk of chargebacks, we will go more into this in the following blog entries shortly.
Also for a quick way to find if an account is blocked just goto this url: XXXXX.e-gold.com. Replace XXXXX with the egold account name. If it doesn’t say the account is blocked to new spend then the account is good.

Thanks for the link to the original TG thread. It appears this guy was a scammer anyway so he probably deserved to have his access to scammed money blocked.

Still... shouldn't egold be refunding those who were scammed with these accounts in a L.I.F.O basis until the accounts are depleted?

I think google is really moving to global level because they must have realized that E-gold is not stable, but with my Altergold internet business has become easier for me.

i don't know why e-gold was doing that to that person, 32k is really a huge of money and i will really cry for that and bring it to the court. e-gold was so bad no a days because they do random blocked and 7 of my accounts was blocked and i lost almost 2k of e-gold. i am using 1 e-gold account now and im not using it all the time coz im afraid that they will blocked it again.
