Daycares seem to be an easy business to establish. You can make money while dealing with kids not even taller than your knees, easy you think? Wrong. Handling children is the most challenging business even the most experienced entrepreneur would surrender into. Children are the strictest and most important client any businessman or woman can face. You wouldn’t imagine the trouble you can get with a couple of kids running around the house for a few minutes, then how about imagining a dozen or more kids running around for a couple or more hours?

You may think that children can be all over your place at once, but ultimately, there are only two things that you should be concerned about – child’s safety, and happiness.

To ensure that they are content to stay at your place even all throughout the day, you must equip your daycare facility with the following things:

1. Toys. Have you ever noticed designated places for kids in department stores and supermarkets? Yes they are huge, and filled with everything the littlest consumer could ever need. Children easily get bored with toys so your daycare should have a wide stock and variety of entertainment and learning tools. Unfortunately, sometimes kids will want what the other kid is playing with. Seems like the grass is always greener on the other side.

2. Books. Children are naturally curious creatures that can easily be mesmerized by the things they can utilize. They can also be coaxed into the habit of reading. Kids love to touch books, and discovering different textures so make sure that you have a wide variety. There are numerous choices – musical books, pop-ups and those with really interesting illustrations. Books are also one of the best way to send kiddos off to sleep.

3. Musical instruments and a radio. Children love music and making noise, and dancing to it. Prepare for this kind of activity that most kids really love. Have small drum sets, pianos, tambourines and pipes around. This can also be a fun group activity that can polish their social skills while developing their motor skills.

For child’s safety, there are two essentials:

1. A medicine cabinet and first aid kit. Children’s curiosity can lead them to the tightest spots and get scrapes on any exposed skin. They also find it amusing to bump into things, even with each other. Before the day ends, you’ll find your kids in bandages and band aids. Have antiseptic and antibiotic creams at hand; also get band aids with fun figures and colors that kids will find fascinating. Be sure that you know of any allergies and have emergency numbers of pediatricians and nurses displayed in a prominent spot in your day care.

2. Prepare an official list of names with photos of the only people allowed to pick up the children. You have to be very cautious about this. You would not want a care of kidnapping on your hands alright. Never let a child go even if he or she says she knows the person. Call the parent first and make sure everything is in order.
