Miami Dolphins Choose Thwapr for Mobile Video

The NFL’s Miami Dolphins are joining up with mobile video company Thwapr to deliver a mobile video experience to fans that doesn’t require an app and works on over 300 mobile phones. This free daily service delivers videos with the ease of text messaging.

Daily videos will be organized by like this: Mondays are devoted to coach Sparano’s press conference, Tuesdays to the cheerleaders, Wednesdays to an interview with an offensive player, Thursdays to an interview with a defensive player, Fridays to game previews, Saturdays to community service or game previews, and Sundays to locker room post game interviews.
To get started with the videos, fans need to text the word Dolphins to 757575 (or 77777 in Canada). They can also visit http://www.dolphins.com/mobilevideo.

Accounts are free, and fans can store and share their favorite videos.

Thwapr uses adaptive rendering technology for its HD videos, so they’ll look sharp on everything from a compact flip phone to the Apple iPad. Thwapr offers adaptive streaming for Apple iOS devices.

“The Dolphins marketing and digital media team has done an outstanding job of using video content to connect with their fans,” says Bruce Goldstein, CEO of Thwapr. “By providing a full season of episodic, consistent and high quality mobile video they are truly using mobile as a channel for fans and sponsors. This ‘see it wherever you are’ goal of the Dolphins makes them a leader in understanding how fans wish to connect with content.”

Other organizations using Thwapr’s mobile streaming include the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes, the Vans Warped Tour, and the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
